Clear, High Quality Sound

A large diameter low-noise microphone for clear recording

The VN-741PC is equipped with an omnidirectional, low-noise monaural microphone that reduces noise for clear, high quality recording. The recorder is also capable of recording low volume voices, making this model perfect for dictation.

Intelligent Auto Mode automatically adjusts microphone sensitivity

With previous models, it was necessary to adjust the microphone sensitivity according to the recording environment, such as when there are a large number of people, or the when recording in a large meeting or conference room. The new Intelligent Auto Mode function makes adjusting the recorder to the optimum microphone sensitivity easier for users. This function automatically adjusts the microphone sensitivity according to the volume of the speakers, which may vary according to the speaker’s proximity to the recorder. To set this function, simply select "Auto" for the recording level from the menu.

  • If you select "Conference" for the recording scene while in Simple Mode, Intelligent Auto Mode is activated.
  • When low, the sensitivity is raised
  • When high, the sensitivity is lowered
The sensitivity is automatically optimised

Low-cut filter eliminates extraneous noise

During recording, the low-cut filter can be used to cut the sound at frequencies of 300 Hz and lower, typical examples of this being the sound of air conditioners or projector fans. This filter also proves effective when recording outside to minimise noise from wind. Cutting the lower frequency during recording ensures natural sounding recordings without distortion during playback. The low-cut filter can be turned ON or OFF as required, depending on your recording environment.

Built-in stand prevents noise during desk top recording

The recorder is equipped with a convenient built-in stand on the rear, which can also be folded neatly into the body when not in use. This feature helps reduce unwanted noise that can be picked up from the surface when the recorder is placed on a table top.
